Assam flood FAQ
What is FloodAssist Assam?
FloodAssist Assam is an independent, unofficial flood information
website for Assam, created by Suvam Neog. It presents public ASDMA /
SDRF Daily Flood Report figures — district status, flood map, relief
camps, river alerts, and helplines — in a clear mobile UI. It is not a
government website and is not affiliated with ASDMA or the Government
of Assam.
Who is Suvam Neog?
Suvam Neog is the independent creator, author, and developer of
FloodAssist Assam (https://floodassist-assam.vercel.app/). Source code
is at https://github.com/suvamneog/floodassist. He is not an ASDMA or
Government of Assam official.
Where do Assam flood numbers on FloodAssist come from?
Statewide people affected, villages, relief camps, camp inmates,
affected districts, and rivers above danger level are taken from that
day’s ASDMA / SDRF Daily Flood Report PDF
(https://sdrf.assam.gov.in/dfr/) and checked against the PDF totals
before publish.
Are FloodAssist Assam flood figures realtime?
No. Figures are from the latest official daily ASDMA report (same-day
when available), not live river gauges or live camp occupancy. Always
follow ASDMA, District Administration, IMD, and CWC for decisions.
What are the Assam flood emergency helpline numbers?
ASDMA 1079, SEOC 1070, District Control Room 1077, ambulance 108,
police 100, and fire 101.
